Haymaking 2016

Good to see the meadow improving year by year.  The yellow rattle is getting more established and tackling some of the patches with the course grasses.

The peening bench which I made from some fallen ash in the wood has worked well and allows me to be keep a good edge on my Austrian scythe blade.

It always seems rather a shame to waste the best of the hay but the main thing is to get it raked off the meadow before its rots down.  At least it provides a comfortable 'hotel' for the woodland wildlife.

All complete for another season!
